After such a wonderful and bright day yesterday today was a very moist almost foggy day with no wind only heat. It was as time stood still today. In the morning after breakfast me and my dad went for a snorkeling trip....after being on a boat for around 40min (on one of the pics you can see the resort from the sea and the islands from up close which we can always see from the beach...during low tide you can walk there) we arrived on the other side of the island where we started snorkeling. The equipement that I borrowed from the boat guy was not very good, resulting in continuous leaking....but I borrowed my dads for a moment which was much better. To our suprise almost all coral was dead....we asked how it happened but he didn't really know. Our guess is that it must have been the tsunami, because this massive death could not have been something else and we remembered the comments by nature experts that were so sad so much coral reef died with the tsunami and that it would take decades to grow back. As a result of all the dead coral there were also hardly any fish to be spotted. We saw some nice ones but nothing special, also the water was not very clear. So the snorkeling itself was not really good but the trip on the boat was very nice, watching the mountains and jungle from the sea was supernice. It looks like one of those Jurrasic park islands from the sea hehe. The rest of the day we were a bit sleepy, think it was the weather, because we were all affected by it. Maybe it is time to change location, although a nice and sunny day like yesterday would change things of course ;) Maybe we go for some shopping in Kuah depending on the weather. Also we planned to start the day with a nature walk early in the morning if it doesn't rain with a guide that tells things about the local nature. On wednesday very early in the morning we head for Kuala Lumpur, looking forward to that beautiful city!!
